Our Little Secrets: 1 (Montana Romance)

Our Little Secrets - Merry Farmer Which secondary character resonated most with you and why? Phineas, he was there for a friend, and even forgave them for hurting him. He helped when a secret needed to be kept.

Consider the main character: what does he or she believe in? Charlie is willing to travel far away to leave a stepfather that is only interested in exploiting others.

What did the title have to do with the book? Title was "Our Little Secrets". Every character has a secret. Some were revealed during this story some were not. Wondering if the author is going to continue this with additional books and explore the secrets of others.

Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author.

Too Many Secrets (Cleo Sims Mystery #3)

Too Many Secrets (Cleo Sims Mystery #3) - Lynn Osterkamp What were the main relationships explored in this book? Cleo – Pablo; Cleo – Gayle; Cleo – Bruce; Gayle – Sabrina; Gayle – all the Moxie members; Gayle – Brandi; Brandi – Ian; Gayle – Ian; Ian – Nicole; Gayle – Nicole; Cleo – Elisa; Maria – Elisa; Maria – Ian; Cleo - Tyler

Were you able to connect with the main character and why? Cleo was very easy to connect with. She seems like a best friend that was always getting into something. Then needed help or assistance staying safe.

What I didn't like. I am agreeing with another book club member. Did not like the book cover.

Blown Circuit: Explosive Spy Action for Mystery Thriller Fans (#2)

Blown Circuit - Lars Guignard
Favourite location / setting … When the ship was about to blow and Mike was looking for clues about his dad. This was truly nail-biting suspense.

Did the book end the way you expected? No, I wasn't ready for it to end.

Cover. The cover peaked my interest. It was colorful and it made you want to read it.

Amidst Traffic

Amidst Traffic - Matthew Kovalcik (Photographer) At the end of the book, do you feel hope for the characters? With short stories, it is hard to find one character to feel hope for. However, I feel hope that Thomas removed himself from his bad situation with his mom and her drug addict boyfriend.

Who in this book would you most like to meet? Thomas and June. Thomas because he finds it hard to believe in God and questions his existence. June because she has the faith of a mustard seed.

What are the most important relationships in the book? Trust in a higher power that we cannot see, or justify with science facts.

Time Killer

Time Killer - Todd M Thiede
Did you like the way the story ended? Really did not like the ending. Felt officers would not set something up without letting their superior know what was happening.

What part would you change in the story, and why? I would change the part where readers know who the killer is. This came far too early for my liking. Other book club members agreed with me that thriller/mystery books should not reveal the killer until almost the end.

If you could only save one character from the book, which one would it be and why? It would be the children from the beginning.

Pain and Gain - The Untold True Story

Pain and Gain - The Untold True Story - Marc Schiller Which characters do you particularly admire or dislike? I admire Marc and his sister. Have intense dislike for the kidnappers.

Do you find the characters convincing? The characters are all convincing. Very believable.

How would the book have been different if it had taken place in a different time or place? I think with social media these days, the news of the kidnapping may have had faster response. The warehouse was an eery place that even I would have nightmare about and I wasn't even there.

Disclosure - I received a free copy of the book which did not affect my honest opinion.

Bad Traffick: A Leine Basso Novel (Leine Basso Series) (Volume 2)

Bad Traffick - D.V. Berkom If you could only save one character from the book, which one would it be and why? Mara - She deserves a good life with loving parents.

Did you like the way the story ended? The ending was great. A little expected but there was a bittersweet balanced that I liked.

What did you think was the most interesting part of the book? The most exciting was when Leine found the 12 year old girl. She became obsessed with finding her.

A Tale of the Other Kind: A Therian Novel

A Tale of the Other Kind - Leandi Cameron How realistic was the characterization? I think they were as realistic as they could be, given the topic. The characters were interesting and believable. This is definitely a good book.

What were the main relationships explored in this book? The relationship between Kai and Sienna; Kai and Daniel; Kai, Sienna and Quinn: Kai and Astrid: Sienna and Astrid.

Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? The conclusion was the most appealing and I look forward to reading more about Kai and Sienna.

Is the plot well-developed? It was pretty well developed and believable. The author has created a strong foundation for the story and characters which kept me turning the pages.

January Exposure

January Exposure - Sunny Benson List the places mentioned in the book. Placed mentioned. North Dakota - Bad lands - Buddy's Liquor Store - Lambeau Field - West Acres Mall - Shooters Bar - Greenville Apartments - Fargo Sports Center - Chicago - Motorcycle Moma's - Chemkwest - New Anchor KX-4.

What other books has this author written? I do not know but I intend to find out. Cannot wait to read more by this author.

What is the time period in which the book happens? All events take place within a few days.

What kind of book is this? I believe it to be fiction. The police really didn't do anything. Grandpa, heading off to bars and hotels from the nursing home. Frank having a loaded gun at the nursing home.

Untimed

Untimed - Andy Gavin What were the main themes of the book? It was about two young kids, stealing to get by. Also about them travelling to the future and revisiting the past. Author did a good job.

Describe 2 different settings or locations. The Rose, where they all sit around and drank ale. Ben Franklin's house that burn to the ground.

Were you able to connect with the main character and why? Yes, Charlie was very believable. He had to learn how to survive in a world that was far from his own. He listened, but he also used his wit. I too sometimes had to fly by the seat of my pants, just as Charlie and Yvaine did.

Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? I liked the conclusion the best.

Trapped

Trapped - George A. Bernstein Favourite character(s) … Well who wouldn't pick Jackee and Kevin.

Favourite location / setting … A fellow book club member and I each determined the ending was best.

Favourite scene …. Truly loved the part of Kevin and Rhonda getting married.

Favourite quote … This is one of my favourite’s “ Oh, God! Can’t move! Can’t talk! Can’t do anything! Nothing at all!”

Marching With Caesar: Civil War

Marching With Caesar: Civil War - R.W. Peake How did the main character feel during the book? Give evidences of this. Titus was a proud but humble person. He took pride in completing something and made sure it was completed correctly, but he was not to proud to take advice and use it.

What did the title have to do with the book? Oh, everything. I do not think the author could have picked a better title.

Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. I am not a person that enjoys reading/watching anything dealing with war. I do not like the thought (even if fiction) where someone is killed. With this book, I admit that it was more than just a war story. The book almost reads like a true memoir or biography than historical fiction.

Did this book remind you of anything that has happened to you? Personally, no it did not. Never having been in war I do not know anything about the experience. As for some of the backstabbing, or people out to one up others then yes, I have been there.
